After graduating high school, she attended the University of Hartford and Hartt School of Music in Connecticut. There she became lead vocalist for the Emory Smith/Paul Brown Sextet, and began performing locally and in various venues on the Eastern seaboard. It was also at that time, her love and passion for jazz developed. Jace has opened for and sung with such performers as Rich Little, Joey Bishop, the Smothers Brothers, Charro, Don Rickles, Lou Rawls, and Buddy Hackett in major showrooms in the Lake Tahoe, Reno and Las Vegas area. After moving to Hawaii and forming her own band, Watercolors, she opened for the Jacksons, Fleetwood Mac, Marvin Gaye, Pat Matheny, the Brecker Brothers, Sarah Vaughn and Dizzy Gillespie, to name a few.
Jace arrived in Atlanta in 1998,
and has jammed and recorded with some of Atlanta’s finest musicians,
including Gary Motley, Jacques LeSure, Richard Johnson, Joe Gransden, and
Danny Harper, just to name a few. Thanks, Jace, for making our dream come true in Atlanta!
